LINCOLN, Nebraska – Landscapes Unlimited has rounded out the team re-developing the former Cape Royale Golf Course in Coldspring, Texas, one hour north of Houston.

The company’s Project Development Group is overseeing all aspects of site planning, design and engineering, permitting, contractor selection, project administration, bid processes, budget planning and construction on behalf of the course owner Trinity River Authority.

On behalf of the Trinity River Authority, Landscapes PDG managed a stringent RFP process.  Heritage Links was selected for course and vertical construction, and Erik Christiansen of EC Design Group as irrigation designer.

Ty Bulter, ASGCA, is the golf course architect.  His noted work includes perennial award winners Bahia Beach Resort in Puerto Rico, Sunday River in southwest Maine and Turning Stone Casino Resort in upstate New York.

The architectural designs of buildings will be led by McCarthy Architecture that has worked with numerous golf courses in Texas.

Plans are for course groundbreaking next month and reopening by late summer 2028 with a pro shop, and maintenance and cart storage buildings slated for completion late next year.  A new name for the course will soon be finalized.

The 18-hole course spans 160 acres and will enable golfers to revel in beautiful views of Lake Livingston, tree-lined fairways, elevation changes, blind shots and challenging greens.

“Landscapes Unlimited is a steadfast owner’s representative for the renovation and modernization of a legacy course like ours,” said Kevin Ward, General Manager of the Trinity River Authority.  “The process from A to Z has been remarkably smooth and we’re well on our way producing a noteworthy golf course that will be a shining jewel for the region.”

“It’s rewarding to assemble an all-star team,” said Clay Fetherbay, Senior Development Manager of Landscapes Unlimited PDG.  “From course design to construction and the countless infrastructure items, the reimagined property will be delivered on time, on budget and spot on with area golfers and those taking up the game for the first time.”

The Trinity River Authority is a conservation and reclamation agency that provides water resource management within the nearly 18,000-square-mile Trinity River basin.
