New greens, bunker changes and upgraded visibility are points of emphasis during third and final phase to The Hills course

McKINNEY, Texas – Invited Clubs, the worldwide leader in private clubs, has begun the final stage of renovations to The Hills Course of The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch.

Part of Invited’s ongoing multi-million dollar reinvestment campaign across its vast portfolio of member clubs, a comprehensive revitalization of the nine-hole course formerly known as Chisholm, now regarded as No. 1.

World Golf Hall of Famer and 21-time PGA TOUR champion Lanny Wadkins and renowned golf course designer Kurt Bowman have partnered with The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch to implement the final stage of renovations. The team will continue its emphasis on improving the playability of the course while also enhancing its visibility and sightlines.

“Two-thirds of The Hills’ courses have undergone extensive changes, and thanks to the hard work by Lanny Wadkins and Kurt Bowman, these beautiful courses now enjoy a new level of playability and prestige that will both test and entertain our members and their guests,” said David Pillsbury, CEO of Invited Clubs. “We are excited to see how Lanny and Kurt continue to elevate the experience at one of the best golf venues in Texas.”

This comprehensive renovation project will reimagine the nine-hole course. Hole No. 2, for example, will see a redesigned green system to allow run up shots and easier transitions to supporting mounds in addition to the planting of trees to block views of Lake Forest Drive.

Fairway bunkers on No. 6 will be combined and shifted for visibility and better turf conditions, while the No. 9 green will be shifted left and lowered for better fairway visibility.

These specific improvements follow revitalization efforts to expand, change and move existing bunkers, while upgrading the green complexes to G12 Championship Bermuda grass. This series of renovations will also include the introduction of laser-leveled, resurfaced tee turf, improved fairways and an updated irrigation system to keep members playing no matter the elements.

Invited Clubs and The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch previously completed a greens renovation to its No. 3 Course, formerly known as Saddleback, in addition to extensive renovations to its No. 2 Course, formerly known as Cimmarron.

These full-course enhancements included re-contoured bunkers, redesigned green complexes, laser-leveled tees and improved fairways, all of which elevated gameplay.

The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch feature 45 holes of golf across its championship courses, earning the title of “Best Country Club” from Avid Golfer magazine on several occasions.

In addition to The Dye and The Hills, its two distinctive clubhouses, the Clubs offer a number of amenities including a racquet sports complex, a state-of-the-art fitness center, world-class dining at Pete’s, and the Twenty-8 Grille, and a comprehensive slate of social programming.
