FORMER IOWA TE HOCKENSON JOINS FOLDS OF HONOR TO PROVIDE ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS AT HIS ALMA MATER

Folds of Honor is excited to announce a partnership with pro football player T.J. Hockenson to establish two Folds of Honor scholarships at the University of Iowa. The scholarships will be given to qualified recipients from military and first responder families for the 2025-2026 academic year in Hockenson’s name.

A two-time Pro Bowl selection (2020, 2022), Hockenson joined the Vikings in 2022 after starting his professional career with the Detroit Lions in 2019. That year, he set an NFL record for most receiving yards (131) by a TE in their first career game.

In 2023, he set the mark for the most receptions at TE in a single season in Vikings’ history, finishing with 95. His 95 catches are tied for the 20th most in a single season in NFL history among tight ends.

At Iowa, he ranks 41st in career receiving yards with 1,080 on 73 receptions, while scoring nine receiving touchdowns and one TD rushing. An Academic All-Big Ten selection in 2017, he was the recipient of the 2018 John Mackey Award as the top tight end in the country.

“It’s a privilege to support Folds of Honor and academics at the University of Iowa,” Hockenson said. “These students have sacrificed so much for our country and communities. They need and deserve our help.”
