Campaign to support Military Veterans; GOLFTEC Offers support through Drive for HOPE Campaign

FRISCO, Texas – The PGA of America REACH Foundation has announced the launch of the 2025 HOPE 4 Heroes national fundraising campaign to support the participation of Veterans and active-duty military in PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere). The campaign opens today and runs through Dec. 31.

PGA HOPE is the flagship military program of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the PGA of America. This year PGA HOPE served over 15,000 Veterans in all 50 states.

Celebrating 10 years of impact, PGA HOPE is currently offered at more than 650 program locations. The program, which has served more than 50,000 Veterans, includes a six- to eight-week developmental curriculum, introducing golf to enhance the physical, mental, social and emotional well-being of military Veterans.

“We have seen the profound impact PGA HOPE can make on the lives of our Veterans and active-duty military service members, who are near and dear to our hearts,” said PGA of America CEO Derek Sprague, PGA. “HOPE 4 Heroes dedicates the end of the year to providing this program led by PGA of America Golf Professionals to as many Veterans as possible. Golf has the power to change lives, and that’s exactly what we aim to do through PGA HOPE.”

PGA HOPE is the only Veteran golf program to have earned a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Veterans Affairs, which enables Veterans to utilize PGA HOPE as a form of therapy.

In support of the HOPE 4 Heroes campaign, GOLFTEC—one of the nation’s leading employers of PGA of America Golf Professionals, and a leading provider of golf-improvement services—is hosting its annual Drive for Hope Campaign, where GOLFTEC students can receive a free lesson with a $50 donation to PGA HOPE now through Veteran’s Day, Nov 11,, at any GOLFTEC location.

In 2024, GOLFTEC and its team of over 500 PGA of America Golf Professionals raised over $100,000 for PGA HOPE. The campaign also provides a silent auction of items including clubs, launch monitors and lesson packages to further support the program.

“The Drive for HOPE campaign, in partnership with PGA HOPE, is our commitment to make a positive impact on the lives of our nation’s Veterans,” said Joe Assell, PGA, Founder and CEO at GOLFTEC. “We know that golf is a game that can bring joy and healing, and we are dedicated to giving back to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”

In addition to corporate support, the campaign will be aided by PGA of America Sections. Each Section will receive a tool kit of assets and promotional materials to support fundraising efforts across the country.
