The agreement marks the company’s 12th property in the Chicago market and reflects its continued momentum in 2025. KemperSports will oversee golf course enhancements, membership growth and overall member engagement at the club.

Founded in 1922, McHenry Golf Club holds a unique place in golf history as the birthplace of the first metal wood. Longtime head professional Vale Adams, who served from 1962 to 1981, tested the club developed by his son, Gary Adams, the founder of TaylorMade Golf.
The company was headquartered in McHenry until the late 1980s, when it relocated to Carlsbad, California.

The announcement comes amid a strong year for KemperSports. The company recently expanded its portfolio through a partnership with Touchstone Golf, adding more than 40 properties.
