ORLANDO, Florida (Feb. 25, 2021) – Volvik USA, a rapidly-growing, premium high-performance golf ball company, will be the presenting sponsor of the LPGA Drive On Championship to be played at the Golden Ocala Golf & Equestrian Club, in Ocala, Fla., from March 4-7.

“We look forward to sponsoring this fine LPGA Tour event,” said Don Shin, president of Volvik USA, “where many of the best players in the world will compete.”

The LPGA Drive On Championship presented by Volvik at Golden Ocala will feature a $1.5 million purse and 500 points for the winner toward the Race to CME Globe season standings.

A 120-player field is set to compete in a 72-hole stroke play format with tournament coverage live on Golf Channel all four days (times to be announced).

The LPGA Drive On Championship is a series of events the LPGA Tour created last year in response to the cancellation of international tournaments due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Each event uses the Tour’s “Drive On” branding to showcase the resilience of the Tour as a whole, especially its players.

Last August, Danielle Kang won the first LPGA Drive On Championship at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio, the first LPGA Tour event in its return to play from the coronavirus hiatus.

Meanwhile, the second LPGA Drive On Championship was contested last October at Reynolds Lake Oconee in Georgia and Ally Ewing (McDonald) took home the title. Both players are currently in the field for the event in Marion County next month.
