Groundbreaking driving wood engineered for unparalleled speed from the tee and turf

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida — Performance Golf has officially revealed the Thriver, the world’s first driving wood built with proprietary Triangle Technology, created specifically to address a common challenge faced by amateur golfers: achieving both accuracy and distance on long par 4s and 5s.

The Thriver solves this problem by serving as a club they can use on drives and is a valuable club to use on long approach shots. It’s specifically designed for use both off the tee and on the turf, offering golfers reliable, versatile high-performance for long par 4s and par 5s without requiring swing speed increases or changes in technique.

The biggest draw of this groundbreaking driving wood is its ability to be used as both a consistent driving club AND a long approach club, providing a simple solution for golfers who might lack confidence on those longer holes and approach shots.

The core of the Thriver’s innovation lies in its Triangle Technology, a multi-feature system that delivers speed, launch and face closure from the tee and turf.

  • Titanium Body featuring a Carbon-Crown Clubhead: A lightweight carbon crown and fast face increase ball speed, even at moderate swing speeds.
  • Anti-Slice Power Keel: A unique sole provides a low and deep CG that dynamically closes the face and increases MOI for stability.
  • Simple Strike Sole: Rounded forward sole and extended keel provide clean ground contact making it a driving club you can easily hit off the deck.
  • FastFlex Face: A thin, high-speed face that flexes at impact to maximize ball velocity — even on off-center hits.
  • 43” MidLo Superspeed Shaft: Shorter than a standard driver shaft for added control, with a kick point that promotes speed without loss of accuracy.

Together, these technologies allow golfers to generate more distance off the tee, and hit more fairways and greens in regulation — all with the same swing, and a comfortable, reliable club.

Chris McGinley, Head of Product Innovation at Performance Golf and a veteran of club design, described the Thriver’s versatility as one of its standout features. “Golfers told us they struggle on long holes where you need to keep the ball in the fairway off the tee and hit a long approach shot,” McGinley explained. “Thriver delivers long, straight flight off the tee and is designed to be the easiest driving club to hit off the turf. It will help you save strokes on the longest, hardest holes.”

With its blend of speed and square-face forgiveness, the Thriver is a game-changer for mid- to high-handicap golfers. Whether it’s the first shot of the hole, a long second shot into a par 5–or both–the Thriver offers consistent distance and power. It reduces the tendency to reach for the driver off the tee and also eliminates the need to try and hit the driver off the turf.

As with all Performance Golf innovations, the Thriver is backed by a 365-day performance guarantee, allowing golfers a full year to evaluate the club’s impact on their game with no risk.
