PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – True Blue Golf Club has acquired the Steve Dresser Golf Academy, a renowned instructional facility that has been a staple at the course for decades. The transition ensures the academy’s continued excellence while integrating it more closely with the top 100 layout’s daily operations.

The Steve Dresser Golf Academy will maintain its name and all current teachers, including Dresser, will remain on staff, guaranteeing students receive the same high-quality instruction they have come to expect from a team of PGA Professionals.

Bart Romano, director of golf operations at True Blue and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, is overseeing a transition that has been seamless for students and instructors alike.

“We’re off and running,” said Bob Seganti, general manager of True Blue and Caledonia. “It’s business as usual when it comes to day-to-day operations. What we’re focused on now is leveraging True Blue’s brand and marketing reach to bring greater visibility to the academy and its offerings.”

The academy will continue to offer private instruction, golf schools, junior clinics, and club fittings. Golf schools run Monday through Saturday, with full-swing instruction available on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and short-game classes on Tuesdays and Fridays. Weekly adult clinics are held every Wednesday, and driver clinics take place every other Friday.

“We’re really pumping up our social media presence, getting the word out through the pro shop and the golf course,” Romano added. “Having a greater presence on-site will also be a big deal. We’re making sure that when people walk into the academy, they have someone there to answer questions and help them sign up for lessons and fittings.”

True Blue, a Mike Strantz design, is ranked among America’s top 100 resort courses and it’s a top 5 public layout in golf-rich South Carolina, highlighting the appeal of a property that attracts players from across the nation.

With a new website and a commitment to personalized instruction, the academy is poised to help even more golfers improve their game.
