SCOTTSDALE, Arizona – Troon, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, is pleased to announce it has been selected to manage Schaffer’s Mill, a private club and community in Truckee, California and just minutes from Lake Tahoe.
Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, will oversee club operations, agronomy, food & beverage, and membership sales and marketing.
From award-winning golf to skiing the powdered slopes of nearby Northstar, Schaffer’s Mill is a four-season community with multiple family-friendly amenities. The Club’s Johnny Miller and John Harbottle designed 18-hole golf course was named one of the top new courses by Golfweek when it debuted in 2008.
The course’s outward or “Meadow” nine ambles through firs, spruce, and Ponderosa pines at the base of a ridge, while the inward “Mountain” nine showcases elevation changes of up to 400 feet. Throughout their round, golfers enjoy views of the Martis Valley, Lookout Mountain, and the Carson Range.
During the winter months, members enjoy Schaffer’s Mill Basecamp at Northstar Village, a private lounge to relax and rehydrate during a long day on the slopes. Basecamp also provides member-access to ski and snowboard storage, boot dryers, day lockers, drinks and snacks.
Food and beverage options at Schaffer’s Mill include The Sawyer, a comfortably elegant restaurant with an amazing indoor/outdoor bar and views of Lookout Mountain and the golf course, plus Peg’s Poolside, a quaint poolside venue perfect for breakfast or lunch among friends.
With approximately 400 homes on 475 acres, the Schaffer’s Mill community is a low-density, forest-friendly development.
The community features neighborhoods of upscale single-family homes complemented by the popular enclaves of the shared-wall Mountain Lodges.
