WILMINGTON, NC – Heritage Golf Group, a premier owner and operator of private country clubs and high-end daily-fee courses across the U.S., is proud to announce the acquisition of Compass Pointe Golf Club and Magnolia Greens Golf Club, both located in Wilmington, NC.

These represent Heritage’s seventh and eighth acquisitions in 2024, bringing its total club count to 41. Selected by Renaissance Golf Group as the buyer for these clubs, the acquisitions mark Heritage Golf Group’s third and fourth properties in North Carolina, joining Cape Fear National and Brunswick Plantation Golf Club.

Both Compass Pointe and Magnolia Greens are located within a 15-mile radius of Cape Fear National Golf Club, forming a convenient network of three Heritage Golf Group-owned and operated clubs in the Wilmington area. This acquisition highlights Heritage Golf Group’s dedication to expanding its presence on the coast of the Carolinas, with five clubs added to the region over the past two years, spanning from Myrtle Beach, SC, to Wilmington, NC.

“We recognize that the Wilmington, North Carolina area is a rapidly growing market driven by an attractive lifestyle. We’re excited to further that momentum and expand our presence there,” said Andy Miller, a Founding Partner, and Chief Revenue Officer with Heritage Golf Group.

Compass Pointe Golf Club is a private golf club featuring an 18-hole championship course designed by North Carolina native Rick Robbins. Known as one of the most challenging yet enjoyable courses in the Wilmington area, it features large undulating greens and a scenic Carolina landscape. The course measures 7,228 yards with a course rating of 74.6. Golf members also enjoy top-tier practice facilities, including a driving range, short game area, and putting green.

Compass Pointe’s golf course is complemented by a newly opened 15,000-square-foot clubhouse, a fitness center, and a pool with a cabana bar. The club is located within the Compass Pointe gated, master-planned community, which is recognized as one of North Carolina’s successful neighborhoods and is just minutes from downtown Wilmington.

Magnolia Greens Golf Club, the second acquisition, is a semi-private club featuring a 27-hole championship course designed by Tom Jackson. Regarded as one of the area’s top public golf facilities, Magnolia Greens has hosted numerous PGA Tour and USGA qualifying events. The property also includes Blossoms, a popular bar and grill open to the public for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

“Heritage Golf Group brings extensive experience and a successful track record to the table, as well as a deep commitment to maintaining the standard of excellence we’ve set at Compass Pointe and Magnolia Greens. We are confident Heritage will lead both clubs into the future with a forward-looking vision that respects each club’s history and culture, prioritizes member experience, and optimizes operations at both clubs.  Our members are in good hands with Heritage Golf Group,” said Steve Saieed, Chief Operating Officer with Renaissance Golf Group.

The Heritage team, with extensive proficiency in golf club operations, continues to elevate the member experience through transforming and improving amenities, operations, and programming at recently acquired clubs.

The expanding network further enhances the value of Heritage Golf Group membership through the Heritage Plus Network—a reciprocal travel benefit that affords golf members access to other participating Heritage clubs.
