The Salesmanship Club of Dallas’ 2018 event, the inaugural tournament at Trinity Forest Golf Club, raised $4.8 million for Momentous Institute

DALLAS, Texas (Dec. 16, 2018) – The Salesmanship Club Charitable Golf of Dallas today announced that the 2018 AT&T Byron Nelson raised $4.8 million in its inaugural year at Trinity Forest Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament will help continue building and repairing social emotional health for children and families through Momentous Institute.

The tournament has raised over $160 million for Momentous Institute since 1968, helping to transform hundreds of thousands of children and family members through innovative education, therapeutic services, and investments in research and training.

“This year we set out not only to make the AT&T Byron Nelson’s inaugural year back in Dallas a success, but to lay the groundwork to allow us to be good year-round neighbors in the City of Dallas for years to come” said Eddy Moore, 2018 Tournament Chairman.

“In addition to raising valuable funds for our programs at Momentous Institute, we are building on the relationships we’ve started in the community, the fundraising opportunities many groups took part in, the partnership with the City of Dallas, and the implementation of a robust sustainability plan. All of these efforts give us great momentum as the tournament enters its second fifty years.”

The AT&T Byron Nelson hosted close to 200,000 people over the tournament week, including more than 10,000 people who took advantage of the complimentary 50th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday, May 16th.

“The tournament is proof that perceptions are changing and that good things do come to southern Dallas” said Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings, “The combined efforts of the Trinity Forest Golf Club, AT&T, SMU, Salesmanship Club, and the City of Dallas have not only brought a unique, world-class golf course and PGA TOUR event to Dallas on a landfill that was once thought unusable, they also provided economic stimulus and improved infrastructure to this neighborhood.”

The 2019 AT&T Byron Nelson will be held May 6-12 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas.
