The Wisconsin resort’s Mammoth Dunes is set to debut on May 31

ROME, Wisc. (May 5, 2018) – Sand Valley Golf Resort’s splendid 17-hole, par-3 course called The Sandbox is now open, creating a fun and wild ride of unique shot-making opportunities – including a chance to play the entire course with only a putter.

The resort’s other new course, Mammoth Dunes, is set to debut on May 31, given the destination 53 holes of fantastic golf.

The Sandbox, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, opened on May 1 and provides an intimate connection to the sand county landscape of central Wisconsin.

Mammoth Dunes is the newest course designed by David McLay Kidd, who in 1999, was tabbed by Sand Valley Resport owner Mike Keiser to design the first course at Bandon Dunes, which is also owned by Keiser. Mammoth Dunes is one of the most highly-anticipated new courses in recent memory.

The two openings come on the heels of one of the most popular new courses as Sand Valley Golf Resort introduced heathland golf set amid the prehistoric sand dunes of central Wisconsin by opening its first course, Sand Valley, on May 2, 2017. Sand Valley was a tremendous hit, including being named by GOLF Magazine and Golf Digest as the Best New Course of 2017.

“The feedback we’ve received from many of our loyal guests has been truly remarkable and we are excited to deliver more great golf memories with new offerings at Sand Valley Golf Resort,” said owner and managing director Michael Keiser, Jr.

In addition to the two new golf courses in 2018, Sand Valley Golf Resort will be opening an intimate residential community, additional lodging, new practice facility, expanded clubhouse with additional dining and a grass tennis court complex during the season.
