JUPITER, Florida – It’s been more than 80 years since the formation of the NGF, with six of golf’s leading equipment manufacturers from that bygone era helping with funding.

Can you guess who they were?

(Answer can be found in here)

Today, the names are different, but we’re still supported by the game’s biggest OEMs along with other companies across every sector of the industry: apparel, retail, media, turf maintenance equipment and course suppliers, software and consumer technology, developers and builders, management companies, facility operators, and more.

A number of years back, we introduced the NGF Top 100 Businesses in Golf to recognize the most influential, successful, prominent and innovative companies on the commercial side of golf. Now we’re releasing the latest version of this unique list — not a ranking mind you, but more of a who’s-who in the golf business.

So, who is on this list?

The letter “T” provides a diverse snapshot: companies like Titleist, TaylorMade, Troon, Toro, Trackman, and Topgolf Callaway.

In a notable shift for this go-round, we’ve opted to recognize associations and tours separately. There’s no question the PGA TOUR is as big a business as there is in golf, while associations like the USGA and PGA of America are cornerstones of the game’s history and growth. But to better highlight the commercial side of the business, our latest edition of the Golf 100 focuses on companies that sell goods or services geared toward consumers and golf courses.

The Golf 100 is a U.S.-based list, meaning the companies on it are headquartered, or do the majority of their business, within the world’s biggest golf market. We will also publish a separate international list in the coming weeks.

For more on the latest Golf 100, find the full list here or read our accompanying Spotlight story.
