CGX partners with Texas Junior Golf Tour to host a Preview Camp outside of Dallas

BURLESON, Texas – College Golf Experience, a college golf education program with exclusive endorsement from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), announces it has partnered with the Texas Junior Golf Tour to host a Preview Camp on Oct. 21 prior to the TJGT Lonestar Boys Invitational at Southern Oaks Golf Club.

The camp is open to all juniors, regardless if they are playing in the TJGT Tournament.

At this one-day Preview Camp, juniors and their parents will engage with three of the top men’s college golf coaches from Northern Texas: Abilene Christian Men’s Head Coach Tom Shaw, TCU Associate Men’s Head Coach Adrien Mork, and SMU Men’s Assistant Coach Brandon Wilkins.

Players at this camp will participate in a simulated college golf practice round on the tournament course (which serves as the player’s practice round if participating in the tournament) while engaging with coaches from Abilene Christian, SMU and TCU Universities.

Juniors will also attend education seminars led by the coaches on college golf, the recruiting process and course management and strategy along with experiencing instruction, skill assessments and challenges similar to those coaches work on with their teams.

Juniors will experience real-time evaluation and leave with personalized feedback from coaches, along with invaluable insights that helps them on their path to college golf.

“Playing a practice round with college coaches while working on course management and strategy is vital for the development of junior golfers. When you couple that with the experience taking place at the tournament course just prior to the event and add in the other camp activities, the experience becomes invaluable,” said Joshua Jacobs, CEO of College Golf Experience.

“We are thrilled to continue working with CGX alongside college golf coaches in our region. This camp gives the tournament participants a unique opportunity to get ahead, while providing all players and parents a true road map on how to navigate the path to college golf regardless of what program or division they end up playing for,” said Travis Measley, Executive Director, TJGT.
