THE COLONY, Texas –The Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America set for Sept. 29-Oct. 2 will boast the strongest field in its 10-year history. The 2022 edition of the championship features 14 of the top-25 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, major champions, past champions and a number of local Texans who will tee it up at Golf Clubs at The Tribute Golf Club.

Headlining the latest commitments prior to entries closing on Wednesday include major champions and fan favorites Lexi Thompson, Georgia Hall and Hinako Shibuno. Texas’ annual signature LPGA Tour event, The Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America will feature a field of 132 players competing for a share of the newly expanded $1.7 million purse, contested at Old American Golf Club.

“This year’s tournament field will be the strongest in history, and we are honored to attract the world’s best professional golfers back to Texas and The Colony for The Ascendant LPGA benefiting Volunteers of America,” said Tournament Director Emily Podzielinski. “With the additions of Lexi, Georgia, Hinako and several Dallas-area players who recently committed, the tournament will be a can’t-miss event for our great golf fans.”
